Traditional Ayurvedic massage therapy is a deeply relaxing, warm oil massage, which uses specific techniques and stimulation of pressure points called marmas. Therapeutically, it can help diagnose and treat specific conditions or more generally promote health and relaxation.

Toxins, stress and negative emotions can accumulate at mama points, manifesting as pain, blockages or swelling. This can be an indication of disease or imbalance.

Following a consultation, oils will be chosen to suit your specific doshic type and to create balance. You can expect to feel very relaxed after your massage, so it’s important to considerer this when planning your time post massage.

Benefits of Ayurvedic Massage Therapy:

  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Improves the condition of the skin and circulation
  • Stimulates the internal organs of the body
  • Nourishes cells, tissues and energy channels
  • Balances the dosha

As a floor based massage, the massage is predominantly received from a side lying position to allow for comfort and relaxation. Traditionally a deep tissue massage, it will be adjusted to suit the needs of your physical and emotional state.

Tension and general aches in the body as a result of postural changes will be eased through massage, joint mobilisation and traction and gentle Yoga stretches.

Good health depends on prana, the life force energy, which permeates our bodies and all living objects in the universe. Stress, poor diet and strong emotions can bring prana into a state of imbalance. Massage can balance and normalise the flow of prana.
